Endodontics   Endodontics

Endodontics deals with the tooth pulp (the center of the tooth containing soft tissue and cells) and the tissues surrounding the root of a tooth. If it becomes diseased or injured, endodontic treatment is required to save the tooth. This treatment includes root canal procedures with adults and pulpotomy treatments for children with primary teeth.

Pulpotomy
A pulpotomy is when the inflamed pulp chamber, usually on a baby molar, is removed, the area is sterilized, and the chamber is sealed. It is sometimes called a baby tooth root canal, but it's not really a root canal and it can be done is some cases in permanent teeth. It is a very common procedure in children and has a reasonably good prognosis of success.

Root Canal Therapy   Root Canal Therapy
When a tooth’s root is severely injured or dies from an infection of the pulp that surrounds and nourishes it, a root canal may be a good solution to save the tooth. Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic treatment, involves entering the tooth’s pulp chamber through the crown of the tooth and removing the diseased pulp.

Drs. Singleton and Clark perform root canal therapy using the most advanced endodontic techniques to ensure your optimal comfort. Our experienced dentists will work quickly and efficiently to restore your damaged tooth and make it permanently strong and secure with a porcelain, tooth-colored crown.
